The Haynes ones seem to say replace part if worn but the clymer ives more dervice tolerances so you know how worn it is, they also have a better advice on making your own special tools. Might be worth going through the manual and highlighting sections relevant to your bike cos they cover a few bikes, mine does 125s250s and 500s from about (I think) 83-93 not that the 500s have chaned much since 93 though I can't comment on factory manuals cos I have never had one.
