I'm having trouble setting up my suspension, specially my forks. According to Race-Tech's spring charts, my stock springs are way heavier than what I need and I guess this is the main cause.

Can anybody please help me with this? Damping sugestions are also welcomed.

Here's my info:
'01 CR 250
154 lbs.
5'7
Intermediate
100% MX

Thanks!

Okiewan, I'm taking Race-Tech's website as my only source of info. According to them, stock springs (measured) are 4.9Kg/mm and 0.44Kg/mm rear/front respectively. They have a recommended spring rate/rider weight chart showing that stock springs are good for a 190-200 lb rider. This makes me think I have the wrong springs and that this could be the MAIN CAUSE of not being able to set up my suspension as I would like. BTW, my weight is 154 lb without gear.

Truespode, I've had my bike for 4 months and I think suspension is definitively broken-in. It would be great to get some revalving but I'm in Lima, Peru and the best thing I can get here is a fairly good suspension service. Sending my suspension to the US is a hassle but actually I'm thinking on getting those MX-tech or Race-tech valves. Are they worth it?

Thanks for your help!

Pacho,
I agree with RT in that your stock springs are too firm. A revalve and proper springs will be well worth the dollars spent.

Jeremy, which spring rates would you recommend me. As I mentioned above, there is no revalving available in Lima, Peru and the best thing I can do is order the springs and a set of valves to my friend's in the US and then get somebody to bring them down here.

Thanks for your help.
