i think you can recognise the low end type cylinders since they often have the base machined and epoxy in the rear transfer ports. mine had most material removed on the intake side. I think the top end type cylinders will hvae more material removed on the exhaust side, but as always i may stand to e corrected by the people that really know what they are talking about!:)

By the look of those ports they are really hogged out-that would worry me as most jap cylinders are not far off in porting.Has the cylinder got any external markings to show who did it?im guessing it will be more top end but i doubt it will be better.

The first cylinder is a 1992 model and the second cylinder is either a 1990, 1993-96. The second cylinder may have a shorter instake port and be difficult to stretch the airboot to meet the back of the carb.

That second cylinder is what it would look like after I did my Dremel in garage special!  And as a bonus I only charge $495 for the custom porting!    :p  Bigger is ALWAYS better!  They must flow a lot more and give you tons more power everywhere!   :silly:

Seriously,  that is what a lot of the local shops seem to do,  ruin the bikes power and make it unrideable.   They don't get that hogging out ports is not "porting".
