If you take 101 use the King City directions & if you go HWY 5 use the Coalinga directions. :thumb:

Eel & Farmer John - I think there is a slightly shorter route from LA / Interstate 5 than shown on the link.

Get off northbound I-5 and exit on Jayne Avenue (it is about 10 miles before Hwy 198/Harris Ranch). Proceed west on Jayne Avenue through Coalinga into the oil fields. Jayne Avenue turns north and changes names to S. Derrick Ave.

From Derrick, turn left on Los Gatos Road, then 30 miles to Clear Creek.

My guess is from Hungry Valley/Gorman, it will be 3 hours in a pickup, longer if you are pulling a trailer.

Thanks guys ... I can't wait. I've been looking at the photos from Boars and Piglets past (on the Timekeepers sight) and it looks like I'll be returning to LA with great memories from this coming weekend. Terrain looks awesome.

it's a great area for whatever you want to do. One friend I go with likes the knarly, tight manzanita trails. The last time I went down, it was just two of us and he had just bought a 2001 400sx, so we just played all day and did lot's of hill climbs...totally fun. whatever you like, it's there.

Route sheet is up on the D36 site. Gotta say this is the first time I have ever seen a "high skill area" in the middle of a reset. Are enviros gonna hop out of the woods and throw tofu at us? :)

Alan,
I think we (you, KTMZak, John D, & myself) should start a pool on how much plastic we find in this section during clean up on Mon/Tue. ;)

What's a "high skill" area ?
And how do I approach a "free zone" ?

I've never seen a free zone down here in 36 ...

my guess is once you get in the free zone, you TRY and get past whatever obstacle is there as fast as you can.....

sounds to me like a real difficult area so they are giving us a break...but I certainly could be wrong. either way, I wouldn't suggest doddling.

Well that does it! :whiner: There goes my confidence that I'll finish this event. :whiner: :whiner: Is it to late to switch back to the Piglet. Working this event is sounding like a better way to get points. :whiner:

Quit yer bitchin' - we're going to finish and place in our respective classes.

BTW - I've removed all my street legal stuff in preparation. No point in losing a license plate, blinkers, headlight etc :scream:

Can't wait,
Brian

Don't know about that program you are using, where did you find that?
The C split is just a mileage where the C's split off- no entries to do there.
The reset would be plugged in if you are a C, all others ignore that line.
The gas available is at a reset so no special entry other than the standard reset.

I been out of this stuff for a few years so anybody jump in if I am wrong.

Is there an area we should look for at the Boar that is better suited for Travel Trailers? We are kinda long with 25' trailer & quad cab truck.
Need a flat spot with some turning room.

EnduroDude,
You're just a pipsqueek in that rig - I'm towing a 36ft 5th wheel with a LWB Quad Cab. I parked at Staging Area 1 last year. Oak Slope and Jade Mill will not happen with my rig. There may be camping across the road from Oak Slope thanks to FJ & crew at the BLM - see the Wild Piglet thread.

There will be a flat, RV friendly open area on the right side of Clear Creek road just prior to Oak Slope. It will be open from Thursday A.M. to Monday.
