Our distinguished (at least maybe he should be) governor announced he is ready to mobilize the National guard to guard against swine flu if it becomes apparent that it has hit the state. I haven't figured out yet if we have extremely good snipers that are going to shoot the viruses as they come across the border or are they going to keep us in our homes until the danger has passed.
I am proud to say I have never voted for this idiot and here I thought Illinois just got rid of the biggest boob in state government :bang:

This has got to be the most over hyped "pandemic" in history. I've had to sit through daily 1+ hour meetings for almost 2 weeks now for contingency planning at our hospital.

Put a world wide price tag on this misinformation blunder? World wide, news or government? I am leaning towards the idiot box. The local news is in competition with tmz, seemingly. BUT, I can still trust the sports reporting?

The local news reported that it appears to not be as bad as first thought and that schools will reopen "early" and life will go on.

The Chicago schools that closed, and cleaned for a change, are taking a real media beating for closing, now! A pickled bunch for sure? Kind of like the story of chicken little, and the sky is falling?

OMG!!!! People might get THE FLU!!!! :rotfl:

Why not have the government spend some of the "Swine Flu advertising budget" on hand sanitizer and tylenol. At least it wouldn't be a COMPLETE WASTE.

In 1918 and 1976 we freaked out about it also. Just history repeating.

The flip side is that it's better to be safe than sorry.

Bake your noodle on this one for a minute or two.

How man cases? 1,000 or so? Let's just round it up to 10,000.

So, 10,000 cases of the flu, and the sheep are wearing masks.

Millions of cases of HIV/AIDS, an people still won't wear condoms.
