This is a stupid question I know. This is my first top end. I got the piston in and realized i never looked to see if the rings were label side up. The manual says if they are unmarked it doesn't matter and if they are marked, then label side up.

Does wiseco yz250 ring orientation matter?

I just dont feel like taking it back out and spending another 30 min trying to get that damn piston back in by hand when I get home from work today.

I just installed a Wiseco Pro Lite model piston in my son's KX100, the instructions stated that the rings may be installed either side up. But I still am in the habit of always installing them with the markings up.

Again this was on a KX100, so I do not know if the rings instruction sheet from Wiseco was generic or specific to the KX100. It appeared to be generic.

Ill double check the one that came with my piston. The one off the website was generic for all pistons.

thanks,

Just did my CR250 and RM65, neither had any markings on the rings, both instructions said either side up.

I just received my 804M06850 WIESCO piston. The green instruction sheet doesn't say anything about ring orientation.

Hope this helps, Steve.

My sheet says "either side up except otherwise noted" I didn't see any other notes so hope she runs well tomorrow!
