woods bike

a friend of mine is looking at getting a bike. he wants a 2 stroke because of the light weight, etc. but where the older year cr's and yz's any good in the woods? i ride a ktm and its hard to compare it to other bikes cuz its so smooth for the woods. anybody have ideas for an older 2 stroke bike for woods ridin?

If your talking real old i would go with a DS 125 or 250.

any old kawasaki kdx are 1 choice easy to ride & to maintain

84-86 IT 200s can be had for a few hundred and are easy as heck to work on and reliable, plus they are extremely light (85, and 86 have front disk). Late 80s through 90s KDXs are fine machines. A late 80s on KTM EXC would be good if in decent shape. An early 90s Yamaha WR 200 or 250 is a good bet. Early 90s RMXs are fairly cheap. Plenty to choose from.
