alright guys, this probably should have been posted in the " which bike" forum, but ill drop it here anyway. im looking for a new woods bike.i ride a 2 smoke, and i like it, but i think id like to move to a 4 stroke. in all of your opinions, which is the best 4 stroke to convert to woods? im think im a pretty quick rider, ill be in B class by the end of the year. im not looking for an XR or WR. basically my options are as follows : KTM 400/520 , YZ426, CRF450

i'd take your kdx anyday over the bikes listed for the woods. Plus, by the time you got them woods ready you could of bought a couple more kdx's for back up. JMO

I have to second the notion on the KDX. Great woods bike. If your worried about low end power, don't be, the 220 has pretty amazing lowend pull... and with a little work can have more pull towards the top of the revs. Nice and reliable too... if you spent as much money on a KDX as a thumper, you could get the suspension done, and some motor work too. Just my $.02. I'm sure some of the thumper guys will be all over this soon, and there are some really great thumpers out there too.

Get a KTM 400 EXC, put some handguards on it and go race. Best race fourstroke out there right out of the crate. If you want an overweight, undersuspended, slow trail bike buy a KDX.:p

Woods ready???. Throw some hand guards and change the gearing on a thumper and your set. How do ya think you could buy a couple of KDX's instead;). It dont take much to make a bike "woods ready". My CR250 has a gearing change, handguards, thinner base gasket, and a set of m-12's and it was ready to race.:)

If you can find a dealer that has one...400 Husaberg is faster, lighter(counterbalanced motor feels WAY lighter), has better suspension settings, is available, and is about $100 cheaper.:debil:
