On my son's old xr80(01) It was the same way. I changed everything in that carb. to try to cure the bog,I tried the clip in every pos. A smaller main and a larger one, drilled out the pilot 2 sizes larger, cut 3 large holes in the airbox lid, installed a k/n air filter. Those changes helped the bog alot ,but never fully cured it!! We were also running a White Bros. pipe and a stage one Hot Cam. From what i've read on different forums,They just about all do that, because all smaller XR's don't have a excellerator pump in the carb., So when you nail the throttle theres no extra squirt of fuel to compensate for the demand. The are some aftermarket carbs. out there for sale that have an excellerator pump, but they are made overseas and are junk!!
