My 2003 honda xr70 will start but when i hit the throttle it will bog out everytime. my carb is clean i think i need to adjust the idle and air fuel screw. does anyone know what I can do?
Are you sure the carb is clean? Did you remove the pilot(small one) jet and clean it? Sounds like that is the problem, real common problem, the jet is so small they plug up all the time.
The carb IS NOT clean. Take it apart and clean it well, yeah completly apart all the little passages and pieces need cleaned with a good quality carb cleaner (Berrymans, CRC, etc...). Then put some fresh fuel in it and I bet it will be better than new.
it just sounds to me like your jetting is off. sounds like its running rich make sure your air filter is good if your carb isnt clean, my xr75 kept getting dirt in the carb, and i figured out it was from the half gone air filter
why is it worn out? if so you should buy a new one any way, plus i just did a resent search, $15 isnt that bad. are you sure its an 03 70? i can only find an 03 80.
not sure got it of my friend. What happens is when i give it throttle it makes a clicking noise and stalls. also when I move the idle screw out it runs idle better but it is already out really far. :bang: Thanks for helping me maybe we can make it run.
When you back it out? you mean the idle screw, the one on the side? if you back it out i would think that the slide would go down meaning less gas, so maybe your carb is flooding, But i strongly recomend before trying to fix the carb, assuming your cable is broken, that you get a new one do you have an aim?
i have an AIM and the noise is coming from the carb. its just a lil carb. and out i mean giving less gas and it is out far but it is running harder when it gets less gas. ??? my aim is danjay7777777
