XR 200 VS KDX200
XR250 VS KDX220

Can anyone tell me the differences in bikes, suspension, horsepower torque etc......

I am looking at a XR 200-250 . I did not know the kdx was a two stroke. I might need a kdx 220. Are these really good bikes. How much faster or more power than the xr 250?

Thank You,

Riz

Any of the bikes you mentioned (except the XR 200, it's smaller size and cheaper suspension/brake components really puts it in a different catagory), with a good rider, can be a formidable weapon that can handle the gnarliest, nastiest trail junk you can find. Stock, the XR 250 and the KDX twins are pretty equal to each other, although they are vastly different in the type of power they produce. When you start modifying them, the KDX twins are much cheaper to get big performance increases out of. $500 will turn a KDX into a fire-breather, where you will spend three times that amount to get the equivalent increase in performance from the XR 250. It's simply the difference between a four-stroke and a two-stroke; two-stroke horsepower is much cheaper to buy than four-stroke horsepower. On the flip-side, two-strokes generally take more maintenance than four-strokes, although the KDX is really an exception to that, with probably the longest lasting two-stroke top-end you can currently buy.
