XR or WR?

My old boy is looking for a road trail between 95 and 05 in a 250 4 stroke. we have both ridden the yzf 250 and he liked it. but hes battling it out between the wr and xr, is there much of a difference between the two? and is there much of a performance diff between yzf's and wr's?

the yz250f is a motocross bike and the wr is for offroad trail riding. the wr would be more mellow than the yz. the xr250 is more of a beginner bike. the honda equivalent of the wr is the crf250x, also meant for offroad. what are you going to be using the bike for? you really should follow the guidlines set at the top of the forum page as to help up to help you.
