xr50 k&n filter install question

I just installed a k&n filter on our 03 xr 50. After I removed the stock air filter and housing what should I do with the crankcase tube? Should I leave it attached or remove it? Any help would be great.

route it down towards the ground like the carb overflow tubes or you pick up a small K&N breather and mount that.
