Xr650l Died

Hi, My friends XR650L died today on a ride. Earlier in the day it died and started right back up. About two hours later it started to lose power going down the road. He pulled over and it was idling. He shut it off and now it won't start back up. It's getting spark. We checked valve movements and all the timing marks seemed to be spot on. If you pour gas down in it, it won't even sputter. We've done all the troubleshooting the manual suggests. Can anyone lead us in the right direction?? The bike is a 2002 and has 6200 miles on it. Thanks

Sounds like fuel starvation - does the fuel tap flow freely? Check the flow with the hose off and also with the hose on and the carb drain open.

Could be a clogged fuel filter, crap in the carb, blocked tank vent (check the emissions crap).
