Hey all! I tried to adjust the valves on my daughter's XT125 ('82). The bike has two plugs that are removed from the alternator cover instead of pulling the entire side cover off. One accesses the center bolt to turn the crank, and the other is a window to see the timing marks. I could see small timing marks on the flywheel, including a little T, but couldn't see any exact timing mark on the engine case or side cover to line it up with. I adjusted the valves with the T mark centered as best I could in the window, and the engine ended up with a pretty pronounced valve tapping. I'll have to do it again, and wondered if anyone could tell me what I'm supposed to line the timing marks up with, or if I'll find a timing mark if I just pull the alternator side cover? Thanks for any help.
