One of my local dealers is horrible. Plaza Cycle. Even though Studboy loves them (he is especially fond of Heather)....I cannot stand the place.
They wanted over 10.00 per plate and did not have them in stock. Since I was ordering I decided to go with PowerSports Pro.
http://www.powersportspro.com/ They saved me about 20% even taking shipping into consideration. They did take forever to ship me my parts. It was a bit over 4 weeks.
I would have canceled the order, I was mad. Everytime I called them they were very cool and professional. These folks also knew a bunch about Yamaha parts. One guy spent 15 minutes telling me the difference between a 97 YZ 250 and a 98 YZ 250. No big deal except I was ordering in 2004. Thats an understatement. They were incredible. They ended up discounting my order, shipping it free and giving me in store credit. I really could not complain.
If your not in a hurry, go for it.
Did you take your clutch apart yet? I was hoping you had. There is a rod running through the case that applies the clutch. It can get beat up on the ends after it is used for some time. You can polish this rod and smooth the ends. I can describe it better in a PM. I watched Jeremy McGraths mechanic do this to his YZ at the supercross race in 2002. He was very cool and showed me just what to do. It is the first step to a great YZ 250 clutch. Since your in this allready, how is the thrust bearing and washers?
After that it would be nice to see a picture of your inner hub and clutch basket.
