YZ 250 crank and tranny oil

I just bought my son an '05 yzf 250. On my CRF there are seperate resivors for the tranny and crank oil. On his bike there is the down tube plug and the tranny plug by the chain. I assume that I drain both those plugs than fill up oil through the crank resivor and that is also used for the tranny?

Please exuse my ignorence, I just want to make sure I don't miss something.
