yz 80 porting-Eric

Hey, I read in your book that the yz 80 has radical port timing. Im trying to give my 80 more power. Would widening the exhaust port give it more top-end? What about raising it for more port duration?

Widening an exhaust port tends to give better overrev without making the engine pipey. Raising the exhaust will make the engine pipier and harder hitting but sacrifice low end on the YZ80.

yes, but would widening the exhaust consequently make you lose bottom?

Changes in width don't neccessarily cause a loss of low end power, and tend to extend the powerband a bit longer.
