yz85 gearing

what is a good gear ratio for an 07yz85 for trails and big hills? today i took it riding for the first time with my buddy on his kx100 and he can climb right up the hills but mine is geared to high and i have to be wide open all the way up and if i let off it will run out of power. right now it is 14-47

go one smaller on the front or 2 or 3 more on the back

He has displacement and a power valve you have a high reving race bke. His wil work better in that type of riding. You can do things such as gearing, flywheel weight, reeds, bore & porting, etc... but I doubt it will ever equal them out. The powervalved little KX makes great low end power for the displacement.
