YZF valve to piston clearance?

I'm getting my big bore piston machined down to reduce dome volume & bring the compression back up to 12.5:1 (also decking the barrel to maintain the correct squish).

I'lll need to check the new clearances between the valves & the pockets next week. I've been told 50 thou is a safe figure, does this sound right for a YZF...?

I used .050" on overlap for my abitrary clearance on my motor.
You could go closer but it might require some costly trial and error.
