i lost the service manual for my 03 cr250 and was wondering how much fork oil to add since i am changing oil weight. if i remember right, there are two different places to add the oil but could be wrong. any suggestions?
once your forks are disassembled the manual goes as follows:03cr250 "pour the recomended oil into the damper 6.6US oz, pump the fork damper piston rod slowly several times and bleed the air from the fork damper. extend damper piston rod to maximum. adjust oil level as shown: 1.65-1.85in up from the step in the damper....after installing the cap pump the piston rod to full stroke..drain the extra oil from the damper oil hole by doing this about 17cm3 of fork fluid will be drained and cause 178cm3 of fluid to be remaining in the chamber, blow out the oil from the fork damper spring chamber with compressed air throught the oil hole.
fork leg standard oil capacity 13.7 us oz. maximum 14.3 minimum 11.1oz for standard springs.
its actuall just a tiny bit more for standard oil level
1fl oz =29.57ml(cc's)
minimum standard springs oil level 11.1oz or 328cc(ml)
standard oil level for standard springs 13.7oz or 405cc(ml)
maximum oil level for standard springs 14.3oz or 422cc(ml)
