'04 KDX 220 carb problems (I think)

I have a fairly unused '04 KDX 220 (maybe 30 hrs on it). Totally stock and it was running great until: Filled the tank before parking it for the night, next morning lots of gas leaked out of one of the overflows (not sure which one). Started right up and seemed to run fine (hmmm, maybe stuck float). Got to the trail, ran fine for a couple of hours then seemed to bog above mid throttle with slight backfiring/pinging on decel. Doesn't seem to leak anymore, but pinging/backfiring remains. Starts right up and idles fine, definitely down on power in upper half of rev band. I'm about to tear into it looking for something that might have failed/loosened/etc... Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I would definitely tear the carb apart and clean everything out very well. Double check the float for sticking or any hesitation in it's movement. Also make sure you have fresh gas before trying out after carb cleaning. New plug as well.

If this does not fix, fire back on this same thread.

Good luck,
