i have a 1996 cr250r when i got it the only problem was that the carb leaked i took it apart and its good now i changed the trans fluid ,spark plug, and air filter (uni air). now i cant get the dang thing to start without putting gas in the cylinder it runs and idles fine after it starts but when you shut it off for over 3 mins it wont start without gas in the cylinder is this a jetting problem? my other problem is on the mx track my front tires almost always hits the finder landing level and when i land nose first the bike washes like crazy i don't know what i could do it almost feels to stiff but yet the tire hits the finder.

Worn-out reeds can make a bike impossible to cold start. Low compression (needs rings) can also be big factor.

Adding some fork oil to your front forks will greatly improve bottoming resistance. FWIW, Factory Connection does a great job on suspension for older CR's, but you can quikcly and easily add oil yourself.
