2001 CR 250 Exhaust Valve Circlip

I'm in the process of doing the top-end on my bike and I installed the exhaust valve. The repair manual instructed me to install the circlip with the chamfered side toward the washer. Well, there is no washer only a bushing, or collar, on one side and the cap on the other. I placed the chamfered side against the collar, or bushing. Is this correct????

It doesn't matter, the clip is sandwiched between the flange-washer and the cap nut. Its really a redundant part. Don't sweat the deatils:cool:

That's what I thought, but it was a special note in my manual so I'd thought I'd ask.
