Just got my KDX back together after several months down for a top end rebuild. Second ride the rings evidently seated good as the bike has some real snap. I reached down to turn off the fuel valve heading for the garage and my hand came back wet with fuel. The tank is splitting straight across the area where the valve mounts. Anyone sell replacement tanks besides o.e.m.?? New tank is $340.00 from Bike Bandit. Thanks!!

I ran into the same problem with my 90KDX except mine had a split filler neck. :yikes: I picked up a decent replacement off E-Bay for $40.00. :yeehaw: I looked & can't find an aftermarket Tank for our year KDX.

Sometines you can weld a crack using plastic and a soldering iron with the big flat tip. Experiment with a few different plastics to see how they melt.

I welded an old IT tank 3 years ago and it's holding up nice

I found a stock replacement tank for my boys '86 YZ at Clarke Manufacturing. They're on the web. I believe I paid about $150.00 for it.
