i have a 94 rm 250 that i have been working on for a bit, i think all my electrical problems are solved, but it isn't running quite right yet. i recently did a tear down and found that my exhaust valve was stuck again. the rod that moves the arm works fine, but there is a spring that has broken. can a exhaust valve be set wide open? would it still run? also when i took out the motor i sealed the intake boot with a bag and happened to turn over the motor and it showed a vaccume then it showed pressure. should the reeds seal tightly or just when its running (more back pressure to seal)? any help would be great! thanks

It will run with it set wide open but you won't have any low end power. I would rather ride with it closed than open if I had to choose.
