96' XR200 shock.......IS it rebuildable??????

1996 Honda xr200 has leaky shock seal. Lost all of it rebound and is just riding on the spring. Can it be rebuilt???? Local dealers said no, but i dont know, just verifying. Any info on this would be helpful. Thanks

I didn't think it could be rebuilt, but George @ Scott's Performance (the stabilizer guys) alluded to possibilities. The '91 & older one, 4 sure; but the newer one - it looks iffy.

Many times the older sealed units can be rebuilt. However they are poor in quality and it's typically better to just replace.
