Another Stupid Interchange Question

Did Yamaha change the overall length on the shocks in 2000? I'm thinking about buying a second shock and need to know if the later model shocks will physically fit in my 98 YZ250.

Any difference in later model shocks between two stroke and four stroke?

Of course, checking online parts fisches doesn't work because the PNs change every year for different valving.

i think you could use up to 01 . in 02 the shocks are longer about 20mm
. what about a wp 5018 shock . jer got me one for a yz 125 and it makes the stocker look like a bicycle shock !!!!

You can only use a 98 shock on your 98 bike as Yamaha changed the length for 99. Also the 4 stroke shocks have a shorter reservior and its at a different angle.
