How does Bel-Ray H1R synthetic oil compare to Mobile1 mx2t in terms of clean burning (black crap from silencer) and sponge? What gas/oil ratio does one recommend?

You should hear more opinions. My experience tell me that if we have a bike well jetted for a brand of oil+right heat plug for certain application=No Spooge.
32:1 it is the most common and more reliable as far as I know.
By others words everytime you change a brand of oil you should adjust your jetting(Due to their flashpoints), or fuel octanes, or type of riding(Desert, Mx and so on...)
The trick it is eliminate the variables the most possible... ;)

You might be talking about that metric ratio? :D

128 oz/gal / 40 = 3.2 oz /gal ; doesn't matter if its Hr1 or hershey syrup, still 40:1.

me : 40:1
daughter 32:1 (likes it rich!)
wife, no syrup, (thumper)

Do a search on oil ratios and prepare to be blow over.
You will be reading till tomorrow this time only to learn everyone has a little different opinion. Lets see......Menhaden oil 3:1 with low octane mineral spirits ;) Sounds fishy and smells fishy....

OK, I'm just kiddin'

Bel Ray comes in 12.8 oz containers.
So what does this mean?
You can mix a container with 4 gal. of fuel and have 40:1,
or you can mix a container with 3.2 gal of fuel and have 32:1...
