best way to clean a fully assembled motor

its off the bike but is pretty grimey,i dont wanna take it apart like that.

whats a good degreaser for aluminum ive seen alot that are to harsh for aluminum thanks

careful with PP cause it will stain certain parts. i spray the motor down, spray PP on motor, start scrubbing, then wash off. as long as your using lots of water right away youll be ok. dont let it sit w/ just PP on it

I like maxima cleanup, but not if it's a really grimy, grease covered engine that was someone elses mess. Then, I just use gunk and high pressure hose, to get most of it off. Then use toothbrush, dawn/water mix and air to scrub it all-the-way-clean

ok heres another question - whats the best way to clean the inside of the motor after taking it apart?

i use my solvent tank with simple green, then wash the parts off with water and blow them off with air. lots and lots of motors running around in phoenix that ive done that way. :cool:
