clutch not workin

Thanks in advance for anyone's help. Just got my brother's 84 rm60 serviced. Starts easily and runs great. Problem is that when i put the bike in gear with the clutch lever squeezed, the bike goes in gear and cuts off. Help!

who serviced it? They forgot to adjust the clutch, OR the clutch plates are worn and the basket may be notched. try to adjust it at the cable then pull the cover and start measurin if the prior doesn't work

If the basket has notches on the fingers, you can file them smooth, It will help for awhile, but a basket will be in the shopping cart in the future
