rmc_olderthandirt may have posted your answer on page 1. You got to run a plug at a temp that allows it to burn clean, if your on a long downhill pull the clutch and blip the throttle as you go. If by gutted you mean no packing, you should pack it it'll make more power, if its completely gutted throw it in the bin.

With a gutted silencer: Your engine will NEVER run properly & You are liable for giving dirtbikes a bad name! Wayyyyy too loud!!!

Same problem older bike on Aussie forum, the owner posted a picture of the bike. The pipe was dented for its entire length, If that disturbs the reversion pulses You'd expect to have plug and jetting problems.

so what your sayin is i should put the new silencer on and try a hotter or colder plug??

Try the recomended plug with a good pipe and silencer.
