"Dead" Rear Spring

My back spring went dead on me, no spring to it, like riding a hard back bicycle. Stock 02KDX spring, jumped a 7ft stepdown into a creek, and then it stopped working:think

Hmmmm something doesn't sound right. Does it feel like this only when warm or all the time now? Is the spring visibly broken? Check both upper & lower shock bolts along with linkage & swingarm bushings. Look it over good.

that sounds pretty wierd...I doubt its the spring, something probably siezed up, bearings...mabye even a bent shock shaft

I had a bike that acted like that and it was the linkage bearings gone bad. The fact that it happened right after a big jump scares me into worring about the shock being bent.
