I wanted to hear from whomever about the benefits between the protaper style bars vs renthal style bars. I know the protapers sits higher than the renthals. :blah:

They don't really sit any higher, it's all in the bend. I have the renthal style bars you talk of, in a Jimmy Button bend, because I'm 6'6" and they are really tall. BUT with renthal twinwalls and the Pro Taper's the bars are bigger around, and they are much stronger, and will go longer without fatigue failure.

There are Renthals that "sit higher" than ProTapers, depends on the bend you buy.
Assuming you are talking about standard size Renthals (7/8" dia), the Protapers are bigger 1"- 1-1/8", offer more flex and vibration control. They are also much less likely to bend in a crash. An adaptor or bar clamps (if your top clamp is made to have replaceable bar clamps) or top clamp and bar clamps are required on most stock bikes. You CAN replace the bar clamps on your KX.
