what the valve specs should be set at on a 90 xr 250 intake and exhaust, should they be set hot or cold? And also how many turns the idle mixture screw is set at from the factory? Any help would be great thanks in advance! I tried asking the local dealer and they wouldnt tell me anything, i am ordering a repair manual but would like to ride tomorrow.

You are supposed to adjust them while the engine is completely cool. for the other things, I don't know.

Check when engine is cold, .002" on the intake and .003" on the exhaust will put you in the ballpark. Air screw should be about 1 1/2 to 2 turns out. Idle adjustment is a different screw.
