78'&79 rm400 piston differences?

heres my problem i own both a 78' and a 79' rm 400 i bought the 78' without a piston. the local parts dealer sent me a piston with two ring grooves in it , but when i ordered the rings they sent me one ring. heres where it take a twist the parts house schematic shows the 78' with two rings and the 79' with one ring, on **** recently there was a 78' parts motor that had a single ring piston in it does anyone know or have a 78' rm400 motor that they have disassembled so as to clear up my dilemma?

you could also try using a PE400 piston and rings. I had a 1980 Suzuki PE 400 and it had a 2 ring piston. You could try finding the rings for that bike, they might fit.
