Contrary to rumor, GFI has obtained insurance for this years event and it will be held on schedule. Entrys will be mailed out either the end of this week or next week.

Damn, I guess I had better start getting in shape. :scream: :) :)

From the photos I've seen in the mags, it appears that the mud/water hole was a lot smaller last year than when I rode Elsinore ('97). But I wanna be a legend...... :whiner:

Where can I find info on this?

I have been meaning to ride Elsinore for about 5 years now. I usually find out about it either 2 days before or afer the event.

Is it a 500 friendly type of event, or should I just bring the 250?

Every time I hear "Elsinore GP" I immediatly think about On Any Sunday and racing through the streets and that huge mud "pit". If you come up to it, do what Malcom did and go around it through a little gap in the fence!

Elkerillo, Like I once told my ol' friend LongTime. Round is a shape.

Holeshot. They have a way of tricking you with that mud hole. They will sometimes fill it during a race. You will come through it one lap and it will be almost dry. The next lap it may have about 5' of water in it. :scream: I hate it when they do that.

Farmer. No question about it, the 500. Also, gear it for about 100 mph+ and you will still be reaching for another gear. For an entry call, GFI Racing at 909-341-8002.

Tony. It wouldn't be an official Wrecking Crew event without you. :D

JP. Me neither. ;)

fatty. The course is a little different than when we ran it in the 70's. There is an alternate route to the mud hole now. It takes a little longer to get through it, but if the mud hole is full, (water and bikes), it's a lot quicker.

Now I'm confused :silly:
First you say 100+, so I'm thinking 15/45 should be good.
Then you mention searching for another gear, so I'm thinking I could leave the 15/42 arrangement that is already in place on the bike. ;)

Farmer.

There are places that you can run over 100 if you are geared for it. But, there are also some first gear corners. The trick is to find a happy medium where you can have the top end and not be geared too tall for the slow corners.
