Factory Plating

Hi, I have a 1997 yz250, I was speeking to a guy that lives near me that does cylinder work. My barrel nikasil has worn through and i need to get it fixed. He said he can plate it. He said its similar to factory Plating. Does this sound ok. Is factory plating good.

Usually whatever plating you get that you have to send out for is better than factory. OEM is thin and flakes off around the exhaust a lot.
