Did you guys hear about the stink that's being put up regarding the statue based on the photo of the fire fighters that were raising the flag pole following 9-11. Apparently, the statue that was made to honor them and the fire fighters that died needs to include an African-American and a Hispanic to be politically correct, and to properly represent the minorities that risked their lives as well. Why don't we change the faces of the Marines that raised the flag in Japan during WW2 while were at it. It surely wasn't all whites that fought in that war!! What a load of crap! Who cares what nationality or color those guys were? Should we alter the real moment in history to reflect some retarded views of the so-called politically correct?

Actually, the man at the base of the flagpole raised by the Marines on Mt. Sarubachi (sp?) was a Native American named Ira Hayes.

After hearing the news today, I dont think the statue will ever be put up. And even if it does, someone, (likely a Fireman) will knock it down. There are sooo many people against it, its ridiculous. Dont expect it to go through.

I posted this in the GF awhile ago just to get everyones opinions on altering a historic piece of artwork.( ie: the photograph ) and it turned into a bash-fest :p, I see it's headed there again, if it was Sharpton,Jackson and OJ that was photographed raising the flag ,then by all means sculpted in their image , but it's not so leave it the flock alone:mad:

The Brooklyn city hall is taking down its very old portrait of George washington down because " it is a picture of a old, dead white guy". This is according to the Detroit Free Press. The person who made the comment was the Brooklyn borough president.
