i have an '02 cr250, which has always ran and sounded perfect. over the winter i noticed movement in the flywheel. i could make a noticeable "tap" sound when i pulled up on it. so i just had the big end bearings replaced because the rest of the crank was fine. when i picked the motor up the movement was gone and i was happy enough. i've rode the bike 13 hours since, and just checked the flywheel again just out of curiosity (the bike still sounds mint). now i have movement again. if i had to guess i'd say 1/4 to 1/2 of 1mm. the shop that did it dribbled something about C3 clearance and told me not to worry about it. is this acceptable in this bike? i know that i am not sucking any dirt. should i really not worry about it?

i always thought there should be NO play in the crank and i just checked mine after reading your post and after 1 1/2 seasons on my 2002 cr250 it still has no movement at all no matter how hard i pull up and down. i would get it checked out to be sure.
