kdx 220 shifting

i have a 2000 kdx 220 and sometimes it will not go into 4th and 5th gear. i was wondering if anyone has had this problem and what they did to fix it

For starters, check to see if your shift lever is tight on the shift shaft, and check to see that the lever is not bend inwards and hitting the case....
