Hello all
I recently sold my '99 kx250 which I raced in the +40 C class and was quite competitive on. I'm recovering from an ACL tear and am contemplating my next bike (I have 4 months to think). The old 4 stroke 2 stroke question. I'm leaning towards a big bore two stroke. My question is what size? A 265 doesn't seem like much more and I've heard the 310 is only a bottom end motor. Could I get a 05 or 06 KX250 big bore? I don't see it on Erics page. My thinking for the big bore is more HP and easier roll on power much like a 450 but without the maintenance hassles and a lot cheaper. I have seen 05 kx250's for $3500 with lots of aftermarket goodies. Also I want to do some off road stuff and the lighter 2 stroke seems more of a better thing there.

If my 125 to 144 big bore is any indication, either one is going to be a vast improvement!

I just had Eric do the 265 and mo' betta porting on my '02 CR250. A friend of mine has the same bike so it was very easy to make comparisons. My 265 literally runs away from his 250 now. The bike runs much stronger from the bottom through the top. It may lose a bit on the very top, but not that much. The bike is very easy to ride as the power is smooth and strong. Traction is easier to find, also. The ONLY thing I regret is not doing it sooner! I also recommend Eric's services highly. His work is excellent, and he is a great guy to deal with.
