Hi Guys,

I Have Inheritted A Pair Of Kyb, Remote Reservoir Rear Shocks (1979 / 1980 Era)

I Intend To Fit Them Onto My 1980 Suzuki Pe 175, But They Need A Service.

I Have Been Told That They Are Rebuildable ?

Can Anyone Give Me Any Tips On Servicing These Shocks Myself, Eg Stripping, Rebuilding, Repressurising Etc.

The Reservoir Has A Hose Connection Going Into The Shock Body, But I Cannot See Anything On The Shock Or Reservoir That Looks Like A Valve For Pressurisation ?

Any Advice Would Be Greatly Appreciated.

Kind Regards,

I would guess they are rebuildable if you can find replacement bushing and seals. Try contacting RaceTech or other well known suspension company. I bet the pressure fill port is under a small phillips head screw, a small rubber seal there that a small needle is used to puncture and fill through. Not unlike newer Ohlins and WPs. If the shafts are in good condition, would be a worthwhile upgrade for sure.
