Rm 80 bottom out noise

I have a Suzuki rm 80 1996. When i jump and land hard it makes a chain hitting noise and slows me down, and its not bottoming out.
Could it be the chain is to tight or to loose i looked at the chain and it looks fine to me. If anyone has any idea what is wrong please reply THX
