Man, RC was booed mercilessly(?) during his podium interview. Wow, I felt bad for him. He apparently took out Travis while he was in the lead. We'll see what really happened tomorrow on ABC. Wow.

Man, listening to races like this makes me realize how AWSESOME it would be if we actually end up with live racing on SpeedChannel.

The only thing I heard was that he busted his clutch lever. I would hope it would take more than that to make him pull off the track. :think

If you can't tell, I'm fired up after this race! I think I might set a record for replying to one's own thread!

Rat, let's keep the WWF feel at the FMX events... I prefer to think of SX as a major sport - not a freak show! ;) Booing RC and Honda is more like booing the Yankees or something.

I'm being sarcastic. The idea of booing one of the greatest mxers makes me ill. Its so weak, you never see stuff like that at nationals.

All right, here's the best I can recall.

Langston tangled and ran into I believe Reed or Byrne, he went down and broke his clutch perch, so he had no clutch and pulled out. Brown faded with arm pump at the end and got held up for just a second by a lapper. That was all Reed needed. Antunez looked very, very good.

Ok, most of you heard the 250, so you know the lead swaps between 199 and RC. RC was worrying Travis for several laps and a couple of times he backed off rather than take Travis out. Ricky was the only one that had the difficult 10 jump rythmn section wired, and that is where he made all of his time. Travis wan't smooth through this section. The end of that section had a tight turn that had Tuff blocks extending into the apex. Travis got hung up in that turn and Ricky was right there. They hit and it actually looked like RC was going to go down, but Travis did. I was very disappointed, but this wasn't a dirty move on RC part. I can't wait to see the tape, but the announcers thought the next to last lap was actually the last lap. I think that RC may have thought the same thing. He seemed to think the race was over. DV on the other hand had no such notion and charged over the finish line jump and passed RC in the subsequent corner.

In my view the crowd was way out of line and I was a bit stunned and embarassed. I'm a KX fan, so I rooted for RC last year, but I've never been a huge fan of the kid. Nonetheless, I felt bad for him. I didn't want him to win, I really would've liked to see Travis get the trophy, but I don't have any bad will towards the pass. I don't think it was a takeout. The tape will tell.

This was an amazing race. Best of the year, maybe best of the last two years.

Saw KXKen. Super nice guy, glad to meet you.

I agree completely with that entire statement.

David Bailey was just on the post-race show and said that after talking with a few people, they determined that there had never been booing like that at a Supercross event - ever. I do feel bad for RC. All he's guilty of is being faster and working harder than everyone else. I sure woulda liked to see Travis win though!

super rat, blue is a color.

Can't wait to see the race tomorrow... we'll see if he deserved it (boos), can't tell just by listening. Hopefully there are good camera angles.

What's this booing/cheering thing being bad? Doesn't make it the WWF... taking people out does ;) When sponsors, networks, etc, see and hear 50,000 people getting into a race, it can only be good.

Bailey says Ricky did nothing. Was a great race to listen to.
Now back on topic - Hey Okie, how 'bout your boy, Mike Brown! Not a bad ride tonight.
He didn't win, I'm happy :)

I guess I don't think of this as a spectator sport since I'm part of it. I understand cheering wildly for "your guy." The thing is RC rode a very good race, so I don't see him being deserving of booing. If you wanted a takeout, you should've seen Israel in the last chance qualifer earlier in the afternoon. Not one person booed him. Respect for the brotherhood of racers, that's all.
Cheer or boo. I'll cheer for everyone who races motorcycles.

Dave186:

In Supercross, the 250 Class is a national series. The 125 class is a regional series (East and West). Indy was the first round in the 125 East series with an entirely different group of riders. Bubba is in the West region. East races against West in the last race in Las Vegas. That race is also on Pay Per View.

Make more sense now?

Oh yeah, and forget about all that when the AMA Nationals start. 125s race a full series outdoors...

The 125 series is split. 8 west races, 7 east race, 1 combined (Las Vegas) There is a champion from each series and different riders in each. Can't ride both for points, one or the other.
