well as many told me to do i replaced the oil seal behind the water pump. I Took the bike out yesterday for a nice long ride came home changed the oil and the oil was not dark it was almost grey to light grey. Where do i go from here.

this time i did lose some coolant less then a shot glass though more of a splash. Is it possible my breather hose could be bringing water in?

Did you get the bike under water?

Aluminum plates in the clutch will wear, and cause your oil to have a gray metallic look..

Best bet, drain the oil, and let it sit in a clear container for a while.. Over night will do nicely.

Then, check it.

If it's from the clutch, all the aluminum dust will settle out, you should have a nice almost clean container of oil, with a silver layer of sludge at the bottom.

well the trails are a bit muddy/ watery. See what makes me believe i maybe sucked up water is that the day i put the new oil seal in i put fresh oil in and rode up and down the road till motor was hot then drained it was still a golden color. that could also mean it didnt start mixing yet. i have the oil sitting now, i took it out at about 8am this morning.

maybe some good news to early to tell. After i drained my oil this morning i put some straight gas down in the gear box and drained it immeditly. i let that drain and drip for 2 hours. I put fresh oil in the gear box. I located all my vent hoses from the cylinder and case and tide them above the carb. The crank case hose was under the skid plate. The other was behind the rear shock. So i went riding only on the dry trails for about a half and hour to a hour, came home drained the oil and its still gold the same as i put in there.

I'm pretty certain hose you are calling the crank case hose, really it's a gear box breather, is supposed to route down below the motor too..

I would agree to route the hoses back down below the moter, if you route the transmission breather up, you need to add a tee so the condesation in the hose just dosen't drain back to the tranny.
Since you have replaced the water pump seal,which you will know is good because if it is bad then it will turn your oil white just by letting the bike run hot sitting there in the garage.
I would check for a crack in the cases some where above the oil level which may be letting water in on the trails and when washing it.
Maybe the tranny hose or the fitting thats pressed into the case, sprocket seal, clutch cover gasket---ect:?
