The nut mounted on my gas tank (where side plastic bolts into) is, in a matter of speaking...stripped. This nut which sits inside of the plastic turns with the bolt! Basically all the plastic around the nut is gone allowing it to spin with the bolt.

Now my question is, What in the blue hell is holding this thing in? I was hoping to remove it and maybe try to refill it with epoxy but I cant get it out.
What options do I have besides spending $200.00 on a new tank?

You need an air impact wrench and four hands. I went through the same deal.

Once you get it out, epoxy does a great job of making it as good or better than new.

I had the same thing happen to my last bike. I used a pair of pliers to hold the washer still and then turned out the bolt. The washer kinda holds the insert in place, hope it works!
