I have a 2001 Montesa Cota 315r and I'm tricking out a 1986 Honda Reflex to be a full fledged Sammy Miller style TLR200. I'm not so sure my riding skill qualifies me as a trails rider, but it isn't for any lack of enthusiasm for it. I love it, but I'm just not very good at it.
I love playing on a trails bike when I get the chance. I have access to one to ride once in while. I'm no trails rider by any strech but I like it. I had a new reflex back in the day and really enjoyed that bike and would like to have another.
I went to the world trails event in Tenn a few years back and it was unbelievable.
Ive been riding for over 28 years on the TY250a and my girl bought me an '03 Sherco 250. The riding styles needed to use these 2 bikes are so different. And there's the 30kg weight difference, drum vs disc brakes too!
We will be seeing the World Trials Titles here in OZ next month, holidays are booked and accomodation ready too.
I've got an 05 Scorpa SY250 and love it. My body does not like it. If I cannot get to where I can ride it, I'll have to sell it. Lots of fun for the short amount of time I have on it.
Bswift, dont sell it!!! how far away is any comps? I travel up to 6-7 hours for a trials comp. Even riding in the back yard will help any other riding..road and enduro!
Started riding trials in 2000 I have a Montesa 315 love every part of it. competed for about 5 years got to where I could win the intermediate class (old farts and 12 year olds) Now its my favorite woods bike If you have kids that are beginners at woods riding you need a trials bike. You can go so slow without flogging your clutch or over heating your 450

Seems I'm too thick to make the link work so to view some rediculous trials action go to utube and search Jake Whitaker taking the outside in, just don't let the wife see it
Thanks Rich ,I don't know what I didn't do correctly but after many tries I only had a failed result. Jake lives about an hour and a half from me and is competing in the world champs one tier down from the pro's but still makes it look too easy. I got to ride a couple of hours with one of my stepsons last weekend is a forest over coastal sand-dunes, a fun place to be on a fine mid winter day. Thanks again Pesky
... here's the "Factory" version of the Beta EVO 300 4t . It has a bunch of upgrades to make it lighter and a host of Blingerific features that would make Lou faint.
So I ended up picking up a 2016 Beta EVO 300 4t Factory from Ron Rivenburgh at Northwest Cycle Center in McHenry, Il What a fantastic bike!
Ron was outstanding to work with. He went out of his way to work with me to ensure I got the bike setup the best way for my riding needs (Novice trials wobbler)
Ron has been a part of the District 16/17 MX and trails scene for years. His daughter Kailey is a total hotshoe trials rider with some impressive Womens Expert wins as well as Mens Expert placings. I'm hoping to get a chance to ride with them at their practice spot some time this fall to see how trials is done at the Expert level.
I don't do this often but there aren't a lot of trials dealers around, so I'd highly recommend Ron if you are in the market for a new or used trials bike, or need repairs in the Northern Illinois area.
