Thanks RM_guy! I haven't had a need to crack open the top end yet though... it runs amazingly as is... but that may be a step to take this summer after we get used to riding it.
So far, I took the tank off and flushed it, took out the petcock and cleaned it, took out the petcock filter and cleaned it, took out the carburator and cleaned it, then took out the airfilter and cleaned that as well.
I also took out the mix-oil reservoir (the oil smelled like a mix of fish and anti-freeze) so I dumped it, cleaned it out, and re-filled it with AmsOil.
I then drained the transmission (milky gray) and re-filled it with MTL (?) 80W synthetic for 2-stroke transmissions.
That's pretty much all it needed. I got her running, messed around with the idle screw and the mix screw and she purrs like a kitten!
I just took her out in the woods about 15 minutes ago through 4 inches of snow and slush (Nor-Easter here in Massachusetts) and it felt like a tank. I didn't feel any bumps, standing on the pegs felt really sturdy, and she'll crawl through anything.
I am very happy with it! My mom and dad aren't as worried now either considering it's more of a cruiser than a racer.
I let my brother ride it and he took a liking right away... it'll keep up amazingly with our quads... First three seconds he was on it he banged through fourth gear, spun it around popped down to first and did a wheelie... So, I think it'll be able to keep up with him too.. Lol.
Thanks again for all your help guys!
