Yz125

I currently ride a 250F.. but was considering a big bore 125.... what's the biggest cc kit I can get for a 02-03 yz125 ? I must admit I miss the two stroke sound and starting ease. Will the bored 125 be reliable? How much will the kit cost?
I thought the bored 125 might be a good compromise between light weight and power. We ride MX tracks once a week.

i have a yz134 kit in mine. it is faster then any 250f around where i ride. you can go clear up to 167cc. that is a bore and stroke kit. rick peterson motorsports will do it for $1800. i don't know how reliable they are but i rode a ktm with a 167 and i havn't found a 250 that is as fast as it. the power to weight ratio is ubelivable. anything esle you want to know about them let me know.

raceready99: I'm getting very serious about getting an RM125 and then getting RPMs 167cc for the very point you mention - power to weight ratio.

Do you recall how the vibration of the KTM 167 compared to stock? That's my biggest worry.
